Removing the space - Part two

This is the second part of a two-part article. It is recommended that we do not read this article before reading the previous one, please. Reading the first article places this article in perspective. The previous article created the foundation for this one.

Kicking off from where we stopped in the previous article, we suggested that there is no difference between our True Nature and the aspects we give to 'God'. Therefore, there is actually no 'space' or 'distance' between ourSelf and God.

Now, it is completely understandable that this view can be disturbing to hear for some of us, saying that we are not separate from God, or that we are the same as God. This can be seen as blasphemous, but let's consider the following before we make such a statement...

God as the Subject

By knowing our True Nature, we know that we are the Subject in which all objects appear. Upon further investigation, we also get to know that these 'objects' are not separate from us, that they exist within us, through us.

However, let's go back to our experience of Subject VS object. We, as Awareness, are the Subject in which all objects appear, in which the world appears. We know that all objects appearing within us are bound to impermanence, they come and go. They are bound to the limitations of name and form, time and space.

Now, if we deny that we are in fact God, then we imply that God is simply another object appearing within us. We imply that God is merely another object appearing within ourSelf. Thus, giving God the aspects of impermanence, interdependence, limitation.

See, denying that we, as Awareness, and God, is the same - this is actually the real blasphemy.

As mentioned in part one of this article, we cannot go and tell everyone that we are God and that they are God too, because this is frowned upon.

Also, knowing who we are is not an achievement, is it nothing 'special'. It is nothing to boast about, because we share the same Being with our whole Universe. There is no separate 'person' or 'being' that is not sharing our same Divine Being. There is no one to feel superior to, because knowing who we are, means that we know that the world is 'not two'.

Harmony

There is the Buddhist teaching called the middle-way, or the Madhyamaka. There are different interpretations of this, but we can consider the following.

Knowing who we truly are, we also know that the whole universe exists within us, through us. The Universe is not separate from us, but rather an appearance within us.

Now, let's consider the words of another Buddhist teaching, the Heart Sutra, "Form is empty, emptiness is form. Emptiness is not other than form, form is also not other than emptiness..."

It points out that we are the empty space from which the universe exists, and we are also the forms manifested into existence from this empty space.

Therefore, we do not have to renounce the world and go sit in a cave, in silence, meditating our lives away. We also do not have to live completely in the world, entangled in name and form
. Without attachment to emptiness or form, without aversion to emptiness and form, we live in harmony between the seen and the unseen.

Without discrimination, we embrace everything, and in the same way, we embrace nothing, while remaining Awareness, knowingly.

We are never something.
We are nothing, and we are everything.
Between this, we dance harmoniously to the Rhythm of the Universe.
